A new resolve!

You know how you can stare at pile of laundry or a messy room with every intention of tackling it and you just end up staring and staring as if you can somehow will it to get done with just your desire? It's like the need to get things done paralyzes you from moving at all and then all of a sudden, as if awakening from a mental coma, you realize that an incredible amount of time has passed just looking at the mess with your laser-like focus that you eventually end up walking away and redirecting yourself elsewhere to more pressing matters. So you grab a magazine (and by magazine I mean Diet Coke and Peppermint Patty), chillax in the next room, and somehow manage to be exhausted with all that wanting. So yes, the Greenwood Family blog has gotten away from us and while I can't promise that my Diet Coke/Peppermint Patty party of one will not at times win the "things to do" face-off, this is my new resolve to keep in touch with our many friends and family.

Gage Davis Greenwood

Well, better late then never. On July 14, 2009, we welcomed Gage Davis Greenwood to the family. I though I would post some recent pictures of the little bugger.

Halloween! Boo!

Here are just few pics of Brighton on Halloween '08. He was dressed up as a peanut.

I hope he forgives us someday.

This is at the DSOSN Annual Halloween party! We had given up on the costume by this time.

The Buddy Walk and The Swing

A few weekends back we had the opportunity to attend the Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada's annual Buddy Walk. It was a great event! But that isn't the purpose of the post. The purpose is to show a picture of Brighton and his first time in a swing. If you could hear what is going on in the picture, all you would hear was hysterical laughing. It was pretty funny.

Concerned at first, but...

loves it in the end!!

Not a whole lot new, just some new pictures

There really isn't much that is new in the Greenwood household, just a lot of the same. I feel like that as I "blog," I am back on my mission trying to think of important and life changing things to write about. I remember being on my mission, writing in my journal, trying to sound as spiritual and intelligent as I possibly could. I had this idea that I needed to write something so amazing that as my children read my journals, years after my passing, they would be inspired to go on and do something great. Climb Everest! Cure a disease! Or even just make it through some hard times....

That ideal died about 2 weeks into the MTC, along with my morale and spirits. :) If someone were to pick up my mission journal and begin thumbing through it, they would realize very quickly, "This is not the inspiration I need!"

So... that being said, I will try to make the rest of this post worth your time.

The kitchen right now is in total destruction. We are completely redoing the whole thing. Everything from cabinets to counter tops is being replaced. We figure that if we are going to live there for a few more years, we need to update it a bit. Once it is completed, I will post some pictures.

I did just recently unload the memory card on the camera to the computer, so I do have some pictures to post. Are you sitting down? Because here they come!

Welcome to the Parowan 4th of July Parade. Me and Brighton are both thrilled to be there. How did we end up in Parowan in July?

Doesn't take much to make Brighton smile and laugh!

Diesel is ready. Look how majestic!

My First Blog

I am not a blogger. Never claimed to be one. But now I sit staring at the computer wondering how I got to this place. I am not insinuating that there is anything wrong with blogging, but I feel somehow I need to say something clever or insightful in order for this to be worthwhile for me and for the reader. Somehow I feel like I have been pulled into a scene from "Juno."

I will do my best to keep this blasted thing up to date with pictures of the family (aka Emily, Brighton and Diesel). So to start off "My First Blog," here come some pictures.

Brighton Loves His Toys!
Right after our first eye surgery. Sad boy.
